It was far from a New Year humdinger, but Leeds United fans would have left Anfield at the full-time whistle very pleased with their beloved side's level of application throughout.
Indeed, there was a real lack of goalmouth action during the 0-0 draw, but Daniel Farke would still laud his team's "resilience" at the full-time whistle to stifle Arne Slot's often free-flowing Liverpool.
Leeds-United
Leeds are now seven points clear of the Premier League drop zone, thanks to the stalemate being secured, even as Dominic Calvert-Lewin was surprisingly dropped to the substitutes' bench for his return to Merseyside.
Farke stated that he must "look after" Calvert-Lewin when questioned about this decision, considering his well-known injury record at Everton, with his red-hot goalscoring streak nearly continuing on, when he scored an offside strike in the second half.
But, even with the Sheffield-born marksman not being at the forefront of the German's plans for a change, Leeds still managed to collect a fantastic result, as many stars - away from the eight-goal hero - shone throughout the ranks.
Leeds' best performers vs Liverpool
With only three goals given up now across their last four Premier League outings, Leeds' defence very much deserve their plaudits.
Lucas Perri would have been overjoyed to pick up his first clean sheet since August when making a total of four saves to thwart the likes of Hugo Ekitike, while Pascal Struijk and Jaka Bijol would stand firm throughout, too, winning a combined six duels.

James Justin was arguably the pick of the bunch from the resolute defensive performers, though, with the former Leicester City man winning six duels all on his own, while also registering six clearances to keep figures such as Florian Wirtz easily at bay.
There wasn't much to shout about when it came to Lucas Nmecha and Brenden Aaronson in the more advanced areas of the pitch, but Ethan Ampadu stood out again in the midfield ranks, as he played the role of anchor extremely well in the centre of the park, to lead by example as captain.
Ethan-Ampadu
He did pick up a yellow card for his troubles, which means the former Chelsea battler will be suspended for the Whites' next league clash against Manchester United.
But, Farke will know, even with Ampadu missing, that he can rely on another full-blooded performer to roll up his sleeves against Ruben Amorim's Red Devils.
8/10 Leeds star is becoming as important as Calvert-Lewin
Losing Ampadu will be a blow for Farke, but he will be confident that his team can still put in a determined performance against Amorim's men, based on their gutsy display at Anfield.
Calvert-Lewin, playing an understated role, didn't impact Leeds too much, either, so he will hope the Welshman being absent for just one match won't be too unsettling. Gabriel Gudmundsson, away from any possible changes, will feel confident that he can continue being one of his manager's first names on the team sheet, after another energetic display was put in by the £10m Swede on Thursday evening.

Gudmundsson has featured in every Premier League game this season so far for Farke's men, and for good reason, winning 5.8 duels per game across his 19 league appearances, making him an extremely stern defender to try and break down, as Liverpool found out.
Across the 90 minutes, the Malmo-born full-back barely put a foot wrong, as Gudmundsson won 100% of his tackles to help Perri pick up a deserved clean sheet.
Conor-Bradley
With two successful dribbles next to his name as well, Gudmundsson would constantly provide vigour to keep Leeds' spirits high across a difficult contest, with Leeds Live journalist Isaac Johnson handing him a high 8/10 post-match rating, subsequently, when stating that solid performances are now "customary" from the Scandinavian.
While Calvert-Lewin has consistently stolen headlines at Elland Road this season, it's clear that, when it comes to gritty points needing to be won, Gudmundsson plays an equally vital role, with the goalscoring exuberance of the Englishman taking a backseat at Anfield, for the number three to excel.
A full team effort across the whole season will be required if Leeds are to beat the drop, as both Calvert-Lewin and his Swedish counterpart hope they can continue being this crucial to their plucky side's survival chances.
