On Wednesday, the club reached out to the Brazilian forward to discuss a potential contract termination, which would allow him to join another EuroLeague team even after the January 5 transfer window closes.
If Hapoel and Caboclo reach an agreement, he could sign with a new EuroLeague team until February 23, and the club is reportedly aiming to finalize the deal quickly.
Caboclo has yet to play this season after undergoing back surgery in the summer. He is now working to return to full fitness, but sources close to him say he wants to stay at Hapoel Tel Aviv and fight for his spot.
