Liverpool 0-0 Leeds: Match Review
Fulham team news ahead of their clash against Liverpool in the Premier League.
Fulham have suffered a new injury blow ahead of their clash against Liverpool.
The Reds travel to Craven Cottage in the Premier League on Sunday hoping to bounce back after their drab 0-0 draw against Leeds United. While Liverpool stretched their unbeaten run to eight matches, they were toothless in the final third.
Arne Slot's side will face a Fulham outfit who are dangerous and have not lost their previous four league games. The Cottagers, who are 11th in the table, earned a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace on Thursday night.
However, key defender Kenny Tete was forced off with a hamstring problem during the Selhurst Park clash. Tete had to be withdrawn in the 51st minute and was replaced by Tom Cairney, who notched the visitors' equaliser. And Fulham head coach Marco Silva does not expect Tete to be involved against Liverpool.
Speaking at his post-match press conference, Silva said: “Kenny Tete, he felt something in his hamstring. First reaction is it's not so serious but we probably have to wait some hours, probably one or two days after a scan to see what is going to happen. I can say now it's probably going to be difficult to be in condition for the Liverpool game.”
Meanwhile, Fulham were missing Josh King against Palace. The 18-year-old forward has been a key player this season despite his tender age. King has made 21 appearances in all competitions for the London outfit, scoring one goal.
Silva is unsure whether King, who has a knee issue, will be back to face Liverpool. The Portuguese boss added: "Josh, he felt something two days ago in his knee. He trained yesterday but if you're not feeling very confident and well in the knee and feeling a bit of pain and the word from the medical staff was it was going to be a big risk for him to be involved in the game. Let's see how it's going to react and if he's going to be involved in the next one or not.”
Fulham are already without Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze and Calvin Bassey, who are representing Nigeria at the African Cup of Nations. Rodrigo Muniz is on the road to recovery from a hamstring injury while Ryan Sessengnon has missed the Cottagers’ past five matches with a hamstring complaint.
