Iraola Makes Arsenal Claim As Fresh Twist Emerges In Man City's Attempts To Secure £65M Deal

**Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is adamant that Man City transfer target Antoine Semenyo will play for the club again.**

The Ghanaian’s £65m move to the Etihad is close to being wrapped up, but speaking after the 2-2 draw against Chelsea on Tuesday night, Iraola said:

“He is a massive player for us and he will still be with us. It is not the last game he has played for us, definitely not.”

It does suggest that Semenyo will play for Bournemouth against Arsenal on Saturday.

What is the latest on Semenyo’s transfer?

-----------------------------------------

Talks have reportedly accelerated over the past 48 hours, and it is believed that City are very close to agreeing a deal with Bournemouth.

While [**Semenyo**](https://mancitynews.com/man-city-transfer-news-antoine-semenyo-guardiola/) does have a release clause in his contract, there are conditions to it based on how the money will be paid over instalments.

It seems City have made good progress with regards to putting together a package that Bournemouth likes.

Is there any danger that City could have their deal hijacked?

-------------------------------------------------------------

The short answer is ‘no’. Semenyo has already made it clear that the Cityzens is his preferred destination, and he has turned down approaches from the likes of Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea over the past week or so.

Liverpool are the only unknown factor in the equation. Several respected journalists have tipped the Reds to make a late move but that hasn’t materialised so far.

The fear of a hijack has definitely played a part in City accelerating negotiations, although Iraola’s insistence that Semenyo plays against Arsenal may complicate matters. Of course, there is always the possibility that the decision is taken out of the hands of the Cherries boss. We are still a few days away from the match this weekend.
