Liverpool star could return for clash with Fulham

**Joe Gomez is expected to train ahead of the game against Fulham having missed the last three games through injury.**

The Liverpool defender again missed out [in the goalless draw with Leeds](https://hayters.com/slot-frustrated-with-refereeing-decisions-after-goalless-draw-with-leeds/), but could be back in the squad for Sunday’s game.

Wataru Endo is not yet ready to return to training, however.

“I expect Joe to train with us tomorrow, and Wata not yet,” Liverpool boss Arne Slot said.

The Reds boss also stressed that he is having to manage his squad carefully throughout this busy period of games.

“Again, we had four players on the bench that haven’t played any minutes in the Premier League (against Leeds), and these players just keep going with so many games to go,” he said.

“So if anyone was like, why does he take Florian (Wirtz) off? For example, two days after the game, he felt his hamstring was still too much, so that’s why he only trained yesterday (Wednesday). With all the games coming up, for me that was too much of a risk if you don’t have so many players available with Premier League experience.

“And of course, Cody (Gakpo) is a good replacement to bring him in. But these are all the things we have to take into account to keep players available with at least some Premier League experience for the schedule we are going into.

“And not only going into, we’ve already had two months of non-stop playing football, and most of them already six or seven months of non-stop playing football.”
