Liverpool FCW have moved quickly in the winter transfer window to strengthen their squad ahead of a demanding second half of the season. The Women’s Super League remains one of the most competitive leagues in Europe, with clubs constantly challenging each other for top-four positions and spots in continental competitions.
Every match matters, and depth in the squad has become crucial for maintaining performance across domestic and European fixtures. The Reds have been actively monitoring talent in Scandinavia, a region known for producing technically strong and tactically disciplined players who can adapt to the fast-paced style of English football.
Securing the right additions is part of Liverpool’s plan to compete not only for a top-four finish but also to make an impact in the Women’s Champions League. With a busy fixture schedule ahead, manager Gareth Taylor has emphasized the importance of squad versatility and bringing in players who can immediately contribute to the team’s objectives.
Now, Liverpool has offcially confirmed the signing of a highly rated right-sided winger from Sweden’s top-flight champions, BK Hacken. Alice Bergstrom, 22, has now joined the Merseyside club.
The deal is subject to international clearance and a work permit. Bergstrom has already completed a medical and signed her contract at the AXA Melwood Training Centre and will wear the No.25 shirt for Liverpool.
Speaking about the move, Bergstrom said, “I’m really excited. I’ve been waiting a long time so it’s nice to be here. I’m really excited to get started and it’s going to be a good year.”
Bergstrom brings experience from a title-winning campaign, having played in 25 of Hacken’s 26 league matches this season. She scored three goals and provided eight assists, helping the club secure the 2025 Damallsvenskan crown for the second time in their history.
She also played a key role in Hacken’s Women’s Europa Cup last-16 victory over Internazionale. Her form earned her a maiden call-up to Sweden’s senior squad for the UEFA Women’s Nations League third-place tie with France.
Bergstrom has four seasons of top-flight experience, having also played for Djurgardens, Tyreso, and Alvsjo, and has featured in the qualification rounds of the Champions League. Liverpool fans can expect her to add both pace and creativity to the Reds’ attacking options down the right flank.
