REPORT: Liverpool Could Challenge Arsenal And City For£87M Rated Forward Who‘Wants To Leave’Spanish Giants

Liverpool have not been ruled out as a potential destination for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo, according to reports in Spain.

Catalan publication Sport claims that the Brazilian international “wants to leave” the Bernabeu during the January transfer window.

Rodrygo is said to be in discussions with two superagents to represent him. He hasn’t actually had an agent for the best part of three years, but the fact that he is looking for one now is significant.

The 24-year-old has not been a regular starter this season, although he has been named in the first eleven for three of the last four games.

Several Premier League clubs could battle to sign Rodrygo

Sport say that only a select few teams could afford the winger. Paris Saint-Germain would be one of them, but they don’t really need someone of Rodrygo’s profile.

A transfer to Bayern Munich has already been ruled out, so a transfer to the Premier League is deemed to be the most likely scenario.

Arsenal and Manchester City are seen as the two “most feasible destinations”, although it is suggested Liverpool may come under consideration too.

Liverpool may want an alternative to Semenyo

If Antoine Semenyo does seal his move to City, as many expect, then that could rule Pep Guardiola’s side out of a bid for Rodrygo.

Of course, Semenyo was also heavily linked with the Reds, but losing out on the Ghanaian international could potentially work out for the Merseysiders.

A lot may hinge on the costs involved in signing Rodrygo. Real are said to be demanding around €100m (£87m), which could be beyond the means of Liverpool, considering their spending last summer.

You also can’t rule out the possibility of the player making a U-turn on his future if he does continue to start matches for Real on a regular basis.
