Alice Bergstrom has expressed her excitement after completing a move to Liverpool FC Women, eager to begin the next chapter of her career with the Reds.
The versatile right-sided Sweden Under-23 international has signed for LFC Women as the club’s first addition of the winter window, pending international clearance and a work permit. Bergstrom, who will wear the No.25 shirt, arrives at Melwood after playing a key role for Hacken during their 2025 Damallsvenskan title-winning campaign, featuring regularly throughout the season.
The 22-year-old, like new teammate Beata Olsson, recently earned her first call-up to the senior Sweden squad. In her first interview with the Reds, Bergstrom explained why she believes Liverpool is the ideal club for the next stage of her development.

"I’m really excited. I’ve been waiting a long time so it’s nice to be here" Bergstrom told the club's website.
"I’m really impressed by everything. It’s so nice, the pitches and everything, so I think I’m going to be fine here."
On her playing style, Bergstrom added: "A lot of speed and power. I like to do one-v-ones and make a lot of crosses into the box, so probably that. I’ve always played like a winger and this year I have played more like a full-back. So, I can play both."
Bergstrom, who earned her first senior Sweden call-up for the Nations League bronze medal match against France in November, spent two seasons with Djurgårdens before joining Häcken in 2024.
Liverpool, meanwhile, finds itself bottom of the Women’s Super League table, still searching for their first victory of the season after eight defeats and three draws.

Bergstrom will link up with two fellow Swedes at Liverpool in Cornelia Kapocs and Beata Olsson who have spoken highly about life on Merseyside. "They talked so well about Liverpool – the city and the club – so they made me more excited to come here" said the 22-year-old.
"The picture that I got [is] that it’s very friendly and that everybody is getting along so well, and they are having a really nice time. So that’s something that is important to me too, that you can hang out a lot with teammates."
Bergstrom's father is a lifelong Reds fan, on his reaction to his daughter joining Liverpool she said: "I think he was just so happy.

"It’s a dream for him that I get to play here and that makes it more special to me too, of course. So, just happy."
The 22-year-old says it will be a dream come true to play at Anfield in front of her dad, adding: "It would be so nice to just feel that atmosphere and I heard so many good things about Anfield too, so that would be cool."
