Team News: Squad Remains Thin Ahead of Fulham

Liverpool travel to their first of two straight London fixtures on Sunday, facing Fulham in the afternoon kick-off as the festive fixtures continue piling up.

Arne Slot was pleased to see Ibrahima Konaté avoid picking up a yellow against Leeds, as the centerback was on the risk of a suspension (and the card accumulation resets on matchday 19, so happy days).

Joe Gomez is reportedly back in training, though it’s unclear if he’ll be fit enough to feature at the weekend. Wataru Endō remains out, alongside long-term absentees Alexander Isak and Giovanni Leoni.

The squad is dangerously thin as minutes are accumulating in legs, and Slot was honest in his pre-Fulham press conference that a lack of experience on the bench was challenging his substitution choices (particularly with Dominik Szoboszlai unavailable through suspension against Leeds).

Alexis Mac Allister was able to get a bit of a rest against Leeds, and the returning Cody Gakpo will hopefully be able to put more than 30 minutes in by Sunday as well. Liverpool will hopefully make it through this period with no further injuries, but limited means make the Reds feel short in both attack and at centerback.
