The 2026 January transfer window is now open, and there has already been movement at Liverpool.
The year kicked off with the Reds allowing James Norris to depart the club on a permanent basis for Shelbourne.
Meanwhile, though a signing is yet to be confirmed at Anfield, it’s thought that at least one deal could be close.

Joel Ordonez to Liverpool latest
Rousing The Kop exclusively revealed in October that Club Brugge were open to letting Joel Ordonez leave.
A potential move for the centre-back then went quiet, but it now appears as though he is heading to England.

It has been reported that Ordonez is ‘one signature away’ from completing a transfer to Liverpool this month.

However, it has now been claimed in England that the centre-back is not close to signing for the Reds.

Liverpool missing out on Antoine Semenyo
The Reds were viewed as frontrunners for Antoine Semenyo a few months ago, but the Bournemouth winger is now expected to move elsewhere.
Manchester City were linked with Semenyo last month, and were even named as his preferred destination.
Now, after his release clause became active from January 1, it is thought that the attacker’s move to Man City is ‘pretty much done’.
Luca Stephenson expected to leave Liverpool in 2026
Luca Stephenson joined Liverpool’s youth ranks from Sunderland back in 2018.
He spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Dundee United, after which time his contract at Anfield was extended.
The talented 22-year-old has since returned to Scotland and is expected to see out 2025/26 with Dundee United.
However, it is reported that after his second loan spell comes to a close, Stephenson is expected to leave Liverpool permanently this coming summer.
Liverpool eye move for Said El Mala
When it comes to potential attacking reinforcements, RB Leipzig standout Yan Diomande has been linked already.
But it has now emerged that, as well as Diomande, Liverpool are also looking at Said El Mala of FC Koln.
The 19-year-old left winger has six goals and three assists in 15 Bundesliga appearances so far this term.
