Grayson Allen out for Suns-Kings with knee injury

Suns guard Grayson Allen’s is out for Phoenix’s home game against the Sacramento Kings on Friday due to right knee injury management.

Friday’s contest will mark the eighth straight game Allen has missed due to the ailment.

The 6-foot-3 Duke product, who is in his third season with the Suns, has averaged 16.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 18 games played.

Jalen Green remains out with a right hamstring strain that has kept him out of all but five quarters this year. Though he was projected to return just after Christmas, the team announced on Dec. 22 that Green will be reevaluated in two to three weeks.

The only other Suns player on the injury report was Jordan Goodwin, who is available to play and will continue to wear a face mask to protect his jaw.

Kings injury report vs. Suns

For the Kings, center Domantas Sabonis (left knee partial tear) and Zach LaVine (left ankle sprain) were ruled out.

Sabonis will reportedly miss another few weeks with the injury after suffering a partial torn meniscus in mid-November. He has averaged 17.2 points and 12.3 rebounds in 11 games this season.

Meanwhile, LaVine has now missed eight consecutive games. The guard has averaged 20.2 points, three rebounds and 2.3 assists in his 23 games.

Two-way players Dylan Cardwell and Daeqwon Plowden were out against Boston on G League assignment.
