In the pregame of the team's Friday home matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, head coach JJ Redick announced that Dalton Knecht is set to obtain exposure and will be a part of the Lakers' rotation in the "foreseeable future."

Redick insisted that for Knecht to maintain his rotational spot, the second-year guard has to "play hard."

Redick's motive behind the return of Knecht to the lineup has been the Lakers' three-point accuracy. Currently, the Lakers are 25th in efficiency from beyond the arc out of 34.0 attempts per game (23rd league-wide).

After a promising rookie campaign last 2024-25, Knecht hasn't played much this season. He is only averaging 5.7 points and 1.8 rebounds in 13.3 minutes across 26 games for the Lakers, as he spent time in the G League with the South Bay Lakers.

But as LA is dealing with injury absences of Gabe Vincent (back), Rui Hachimura (calf) and Austin Reaves (calf), Knecht has a good opportunity to reclaim significant minutes and be more involved in the Lakers.
