The Warriors revealed ahead of their Friday showcase against the OKC Thunder that the forward won't be playing due to lower-back soreness.
There were expectations that Kuminga would finally play for Golden State tonight after Stephen Curry (ankle), Jimmy Butler (illness) and Draymond Green (rest) were announced not playing. Yet, he was eventually marked questionable in the team's last injury report.
Kuminga has been subjected to DNP in the Warriors' nine of the last 10 games. His last appearance was on Dec. 18 against the Phoenix Suns, registering two points and four boards in 10 minutes of the 99-98 loss.
With Kuminga out, the Warriors will be more reliant on their key role players against the reigning champs. Gui Santos, Buddy Hield and Gary Payton are all set to obtain increased minutes with Kuminga out.
