An artist has revealed she was "absolutely honoured" to be asked to create an art piece for a Christmas present for Scotland and Liverpool legend Andy Robertson. Abigail Rudkin is a huge fan of The Reds, and says she was "absolutely buzzing" when the request from his wife, Rachel, came through.

The 25-year-old, who was inspired to start her business through her love of both football and art, created the piece, which was dedicated to the Glasgow-born defender celebrating Scotland's qualification to the World Cup following a 4-2 win over Denmark at Hampden.

It also pays homage to the emotional moment where, in an interview following the match, Robertson talked candidly about his late former teammate and close friend Diogo Jota, who tragically died following a car crash in Spain last summer.

Speaking with Glasgow Live, the Liverpudlian says Andy and Rachel absolutely loved the creation. She said: "I was absolutely buzzing when I was asked to make the painting for Robbo.

"I was so blown away to be asked and completely honoured. I feel the piece puts together the emotion he has in h in that moment when he qualified for the World Cup.

"It also honours all the other achievements he's had as an international player. Of course, also after the emotional interview following the game when he mentioned Diogo Jota, it would be a nice to put the 20 balloons, which is something I've been putting in a lot of my pieces at the minute as a nod to Jota.

"As he mentioned him in the interview, I thought it would be a nice thing to add to the piece.

"Both Rachel and Andy reached out and said they absolutely loved it which was such a relief. That was the main thing for me.

The piece also pays homage to Robertson's former team mate and close friend Diogo Jota

"It makes me feel all the hard work was worth it. There's no better feeling in the world than a player at a club you absolutely adore let you know they really appreciated the time and effort put into the piece.

"I think he loved the final concept of the whole thing and so did Rachel and I'm just so happy with the way it turned out."

Abigail shared her creation on social media platforms X and Instagram, where it has received a lot of love, especially from Liverpool supporters and Tartan Army fans, who more than likely still relive the iconic match in their heads.

She added: "I've had so many people message saying they're not a Liverpool fan but an Andy Robertson fan, being from Scotland. They've been saying they love the piece and that it's a great tribute for him as the captain for Scotland.

"I just really appreciate the feedback I've had, and it just makes it all so worth it in the end."
