The Brazilian continues to struggle to hold down a consistent place in Xabi Alonso’s team.

Rodrygo has struggled during Xabi Alonso’s first season in charge of Los Blancos, after having a great relationship with former manager Carlo Ancelotto.

That relationship has continued as the forward features a lot for the Brazilian national team, now led by Ancelotti, but he has failed to make an impression on Alonso.

The Brazilian scored against Manchester City in the Champions League recently, and whilst that was a very well-taken goal, it was the first time he had found the back of the net in 32 games, which is the longest and worst drought for a striker in the entire history of Real Madrid.

He is the subject of significant interest from the Premier League and PSG, with the Brazilian’s head said to be turning towards a move to England.

Manchester City and Arsenal are interested, but Liverpool have not yet been ruled out of the race for Rodrygo.

SPORT has now revealed that Rodrygo’s decision is final and he has chosen to leave Real Madrid.

There were reports that the Brazilian was determined earlier in the season to fight for his place in the team, but that fire has seemingly been put out.

It is believed that Rodrygo regrets not exiting the La Liga side last summer and won’t make the same mistake this year.

For the player, his wish would be to depart in the winter, but the scenario seems impossible and with Kylian Mbappe’s recent injury, even less so.

Rodrygo will wait for the World Cup, safe in the knowledge that Ancelotti will pick up, regardless of how many minutes he picks up for Real Madrid this season.

He will attempt to impress during the tournament, which will pave the way for his departure from Los Blancos.

The report from SPORT states that “Only PSG, which has the three attacking positions very well covered, could face a transfer that will be around 100 million euros, although in the last 12 months his market value has deprecated by 40 million and is now at the current 60.”

Rodrygo’s price dropping so low could present a real bargain for several clubs when next summer arrives, and Liverpool remain keen.
