Liverpool’s January plans are beginning to attract attention as the season reaches a demanding phase. The Premier League schedule is unforgiving, Europe adds extra strain, and squad depth becomes more important with every passing week.

For players on the fringes, this period often brings reflection. Minutes matter. Momentum matters. And careers can quietly reach crossroads without noise or drama.

At Anfield, competition in attack has been intense. Liverpool have rotated often across league, cup, and European matches.

Some players have made their mark in short bursts. Others have waited longer for sustained runs. In this environment, questions naturally surface.

They are not always about form. Sometimes they are about fit, timing, and opportunity. That is where the wider transfer conversation begins to form.

From a Liverpool point of view, the situation is delicate. The club is balancing present demands with long-term planning.

The Africa Cup of Nations, injuries, and fixture congestion all play a role. Decisions made in January can shape the rest of the campaign. At the same time, players want clarity. They want to feel trusted. They want a path forward.

That brings the focus to Federico Chiesa. The Italian joined Liverpool in August 2024 on a long-term deal worth around £10 million plus add-ons.

His first season in England was difficult for minutes under Arne Slot. Still, he delivered key moments.

He assisted on his first start in the EFL Cup. He scored in the FA Cup. He even earned a Premier League winner’s medal despite limited league appearances.

This season has been more encouraging. Chiesa scored his first Premier League goal in August against Bournemouth. He followed that with assists in the EFL Cup and a league goal against Crystal Palace.

He was later named Liverpool Player of the Month for September. Even so, his total minutes remain low, with around 404 minutes across competitions.

Interest from Juventus has now surfaced. Talks are reportedly ongoing, though no deal is complete. From Italy, the message is clear. According to La Gazzetta, Chiesa’s position is calm and measured. “Chiesa is looking for a spark to return to the original Fede in 2026, and a repeat in Turin could become the most classic of unexpected opportunities.”

“The former Juventus player won’t force the Reds’ hand, but right now he’s not ruling out any possibility. Not even that of a possible repeat loan spell in Turin. Even more so if Mo Salah stays at Anfield after the Africa Cup of Nations or if new arrivals are made in attack.”

“Negotiations between Juventus and Liverpool have not yet been concluded. However, the Bianconeri’s signs have also reached England, and they haven’t been met with indifference. ”

From Liverpool’s side, nothing is decided. Chiesa remains valued by supporters and has used his minutes well. But with January approaching, his stance adds another layer to a transfer window that is quietly taking shape.
