A gifted artist has revealed she was "absolutely honored" after being commissioned to create a Christmas present for Scotland and Liverpool star Andy Robertson.

Abigail Rudkin, 25, a devoted Reds supporter, described herself as "absolutely buzzing" when Robertson's wife, Rachel, got in touch with the special request. The bespoke piece for the Glasgow-born defender commemorates Scotland's World Cup qualification following the country's 4-2 victory over Denmark at Hampden in November.

The result secured Scotland's spot at next year's tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The Scots are scheduled to face Haiti, Morocco, and Brazil at the World Cup, having qualified for the first time since 1998.

Abigail's artwork honors Robertson's late former teammate and close friend Diogo Jota, who tragically lost his life in a car crash in Spain last summer.

Jota's brother, Andre Silva, also died in the car crash.

Speaking to Glasgow Live, Abigail revealed the couple were delighted with the final artwork.

She said: "I was so blown away to be asked and completely honored.

"I feel the piece captures the emotion he showed when he qualified for the World Cup, and also celebrates all his achievements as an international player.

"After his emotional interview mentioning Diogo, I added 20 balloons to the piece as a nod to him.

"Both Rachel and Andy reached out to say they absolutely loved it, which was the best feeling in the world."

Abigail, whose art business was born from her passion for soccer, posted the creation on X and Instagram.

It has received widespread acclaim from Liverpool supporters and Tartan Army fans alike.

"I’ve had so many messages from people saying they’re not Liverpool fans but Andy Robertson fans, and that the piece is a brilliant tribute to him as Scotland captain. It really makes all the hard work worth it," she added.
