In a postgame interview on Nova TV, he said Vezenkov, who finished the game with 24 points (8/15 FG, 4/8 3PT) and 9 rebounds, in some ways reminds him of three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic with the way he’s able to read the game and his touch around the rim.
“Sasha reminds me so much of Nikola Jokic, in ways,” Morris said in his post-game interview.
“Just his touch around the rim and IQ, knowing how to play,” he added.
Vezenkov tried his luck in the NBA during the 2023–24 season with the Sacramento Kings, where he averaged 5.4 points per game in 42 appearances, although he decided to return to Greece after just one season.
Here in the EuroLeague, Vezenkov is undoubtedly one of the best players in the league, averaging 18.1 points and 7.1 rebounds, shooting 38.1% from three and 58.1% from inside the three-point line, combining for the second-best performance index rating average at 21.4.
