Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool future has been in doubt ever since his interview after the 3-3 draw with Leeds United last month.
Salah returned to Arne Slot’s squad in December, coming off the bench to help the Reds beat Brighton and Hove Albion.
However, he has now linked up with Egypt to compete at the AFCON, and transfer speculation remains.

Mohamed Salah offered to Real Madrid
One of the latest names linked with a potential move for the Liverpool star is Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Defensa Central say that Salah has emerged as a strong candidate to replace the currently injured Kylian Mbappe at Los Blancos.

They report that the player’s agent has been offering the winger to European clubs, one of which was Madrid.
A six-month loan deal for a fee of €12m is mooted, but it seems unlikely that a deal is going to happen.
Real are understood to have decided against pursuing a move for the Liverpool ace despite the offer from his agent due to the high loan fee.

Liverpool have picked the wrong side in the Mohamed Salah saga
Salah is currently still away on international duty and will next be in action on Monday.
When he does return, it would make sense for Slot to put him straight back into the eleven, as the Reds’ attacking output has been subpar in the last three games.
However, the Dutchman may decide against doing so as he clearly wanted to stop using the winger as a regular starter prior to the outburst last month, benching him for three league matches in a row.
But Liverpool’s stance on Slot’s future did not change after the Salah comments, and that may end up proving to be a mistake.
A player having the power to decide who sits in the dugout is never ideal, but if this saga ends up seeing the 33-year-old leave in January and the manager remains, it would be a big mistake on the club’s part.
