NBA bans how Magic guard wears headband during games

The NBA reportedly ruled that Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs must wear his headband on his head, not as a choker, to begin games.

The NBA has implemented a very specific rule on how headbands must be worn, following recent antics by Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs.

The 24-year-old guard tends to wear his headband around his neck at the start of most games, and from now on, he reportedly will not be allowed to do so.

According to Yahoo Sports, the NBA ruled that Jalen Suggs must wear his headband on his head, not as a choker, when beginning games.

Earlier, when asked why he wears it that way during games, Suggs didn’t really have an explanation, saying it originates as “football drip.”

“It’s funny. I don’t even know if there’s an explanation for it,” Suggs told Jason Beede, beat reporter for the Orlando Sentinel.

“Really, it originates as football drip—that’s where it stems from. But I don’t know, there really isn’t much else to it. I wear it on my neck, and once I get into the game, into the flow, I put it on my head and we rock.”

Jalen Suggs is averaging 15 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game this season for the Magic, helping his team rank eighth in the Eastern Conference with a 19-16 record.
