Liverpool have declared their interest in making a €90m offer for one of the world's best players.

The Reds are never shy to put up the money players who they feel move the needle in their side.

Opportunities to make big statements in the transfer market often get taken, with Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike's signings getting wrapped up pretty quickly in the summer for £116m and £79m each.

In spite of those two signings, alongside Alexander Isak's £130m move, the Reds appear to still be looking at different attacking options, with the intent being placed on finding players with high pace.

Both Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong have proven they can be difference-makers in that department, and Arne Slot is a big fan. With former target Antoine Semenyo now on the move, a new hopeful appears to have entered the conversation, and Liverpool are willing to all-out to get him secured.

Rodrygo is still adored on Merseyside

According to Spanish news outlet Fichajes, the Reds are "prepared to to put on the table an offer close to 90 million euros" for 24-year-old Rodrygo Goes. He is "once again at the centre of the European market. The Real Madrid striker could become one of the big names of the winter market".

This would be one of those transfers that certainly 'moves the needle' in Liverpool' side, not least because on his day, the Brazilian can be unstoppable. His attacking record for Real Madrid is world-class, with a goal or an assist coming every 142 minutes he plays for the Spanish giants.

In spite of his recent 'loss of prominence' within Xabi Alonso's squad, the winger is still an outstanding talent, and since he's only 24 years old, the opportunity to sign him can't be missed.

Previous attempts from Liverpool to sign the forward have been dismissed, although the latest report claims that the Reds' interest "has moved to a much more concrete phase", with the valuation seen as an amount that would "open an internal debate in Real Madrid".

And while you'd normally consider moves of this nature to exclusively take place in the summer months, it's not guaranteed this time around, with an acceptance of January being heavily mooted for its benefits, such as the "immediate economic injection" despite it weakening Alonso's side.

Sport Witness have also reported the change in stance on Rodrygo and Los Blancos' willingness to engage in talks over his future, with Manchester City and Arsenal also mentioned as potential suitors.

As supposed to the perspective given from Spain, here, the Reds' interest is calmed a little with Liverpool's Premier League rivals more optimistic about their chances than the Reds are themselves.

Nonetheless, regardless of the inconsistent reporting, the general feeling that Rodrygo could be on the move is incredibly exciting news, and with City wrapped up in negotiations for Semenyo, and Arsenal with Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli already in their squad, you feel as though Liverpool could actually be the best placed of the three clubs to get him.

Whether there is any movement this month or not, Rodrygo is a player you go all-out for, and if the Reds need to bide their time before he becomes available, then that's exactly what they should do.
