Jaylen Brown wasn’t pleased that he felt snubbed for the Eastern Conference Player of the Month award for December. So, he showed the NBA what level he’s played at this season. Brown’s shot-making was off the charts to lead the Celtics to a blowout 146-115 win over the Clippers on Saturday.

Brown led the way with 50 points against the Clippers, making him Saturday’s “Name to Know” Player of the Game. The Name to Know Player of the Game is sponsored by John’s Sewer and Drain Cleaning, the Name to Know when your drains don’t flow.

Brown has enjoyed a great season, including tying Larry Bird in December by scoring 30-plus points in eight straight games. But he ascended to another level Saturday. Brown shot 18-for-26 from the field, including 6-for-10 on 3-pointers, as it was an excellent night for the All-Star. The 50 points tied a career-high for Brown.

Despite his stellar play, the NBA didn’t name him the East Player of the Month with honors going to Jalen Brunson instead. Brown went on his Twitch stream and spoke about his displeasure of not getting the award. Well, he put the NBA on notice with his career performance against a Clippers team that came into Saturday’s game on a six-game winning streak.

The Celtics buried the Clippers as part of an efficient night as a team. The C’s shot 24-for-51 (47.1%) on 3-pointers. While the Clippers put together a great offensive night themselves, they couldn’t keep up. The Celtics blew the game open in the fourth quarter, outscoring Los Angeles 33-16.
