'It is hard': Alexis Mac Allister paints sad picture of Alexander Isak's life at Liverpool after serious injury

Liverpool supporters are not expecting to see Alexander Isak for at least a couple of months after his leg break against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Swede had potentially turned a corner after sweeping home an excellent finish at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but was immediately injured while doing so.

Since then, it has been suggested that Isak could return to action in March, with the striker facing a period of difficult rehabilitation.

Things could hardly have gone much worse for Isak since he joined Liverpool in a record move from Newcastle United on transfer deadline day.

As he begins the first part of his recovery, Alexis Mac Allister has painted a slightly sad picture of what the 26-year-old has been doing in and around the Liverpool training ground.

Alexander Isak still keeping himself to himself at Liverpool

Liverpool fans have found it slightly difficult to connect with Isak since his September arrival.

The former Newcastle man is a softly-spoken person who rarely gives much away during interviews. His lack of rhythm – and goals – during the early part of his Anfield career has also not helped.

Now set to miss a crucial period of the season, it is going to be impossible for Isak and his new supporters to gain any more of a rapport. As Mac Allister told Sky Sports, the No. 9 also appears to be isolating himself from his teammates somewhat.

“It is hard as I tried to speak to him because his Spanish is quite good, he is a very chilled guy who likes to be on his own, so sometimes you do not want to bother him,” said the Argentine.

“But try to be close to him, to help him if he needs anything, he has been walking around the training ground wearing a boot, but he will be fine.”

Hugo Ekitike lends support to Isak

Over time, Isak will hopefully start to feel more at home with Liverpool and start to integrate properly with his new teammates.

They all certainly seem keen on him, with Hugo Ekitike also lending support to his strike partner in a Saturday interview with Liverpoolfc.com.

“Obviously that kind of thing happened and I was very sorry for him because it’s not funny when you come to a new club and get injured with that kind of injury – it’s difficult,” Ekitike said.

Others such as captain Virgil van Dijk will surely be key in making Isak feel looked after, but some of that has to come from his side, as well.

Not everyone can be the life of the party, but as he attempts to stave off injury-related loneliness, hopefully Isak can begin to open up a little more.
