Real Madrid continue to be linked with several Liverpool players after signing Trent Alexander-Arnold last summer

Liverpool have seen several of their players linked with Real Madrid over the past 12 months and reports in Spain claim the Spanish giants have made a huge bid for one of the Reds’ stand-out stars this season.

Trent Alexander-Arnold ran down his contract at Anfield in order to make the move to the La Liga club. Madrid did end up paying around £8.5m for Alexander-Arnold as they signed him ahead of the Club World Cup last summer.

Ibrahima Konate was linked with a move to Madrid as he is in the final months of his contract but his poor performances this campaign has seen Xabi Alonso’s side withdraw their interest in the Frenchman.

Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch are also names who have been linked with Real Madrid in recent months but it is the former who the La Liga outfit appear most keen on signing.

The Dutchman has been one of Liverpool’s best players since Arne Slot’s arrival at the club. He joined the Reds for £38m from Bayern Munich in 2023 but was not able to get a consistent run in the starting XI under Jurgen Klopp.

Fichahes now report that Real Madrid have made a huge £105m offer to sign Gravenberch with the proposal sending ‘shockwaves through Anfield.’

Liverpool do not want to sell Gravenberch but the report states the size of the bid from Madrid could see them reconsider their options. A sale is unlikely without the Reds signing a replacement. Xabi Alonso is said to be a big fan of the player and keen for the move to happen.

Gravenberch is Slot’s first choice for the defensive midfield role and the Dutchman is rarely rotated. He has been one of Liverpool’s best performers this campaign.

Slot branded Gravenberch as ‘outstanding’ after Liverpool drew 2-2 with Fulham at Anfield last season - despite playing most of the game with 10 men.

He said: “Impressed, like everyone who was in the stadium or saw the game. Ryan did outstanding again today. Without the ball, he was mostly in our last line, had to play sometimes against a nine, against wingers who are really fast.

“And with the ball, he came into the midfield. An outstanding performance from him.”

Gravenberch did not arrive at Liverpool as a defensive midfielder but was used in the position last campaign and excelled as the Reds won the Premier League title.

Speaking midway through last season, Slot praised the Dutchman for adapting to the club’s needs.

He said: “Ryan Gravenberch is a great example of that, he quickly became the No.6 just by working with players and every single day or a lot of days, we constantly adjust asking: where are we?

"What quality do we have? Can we add something? Yes or no. And then there is the question: is that quality available? Only so many players are good enough to play for this team.

"That is also not so easy. If you are at Feyenoord, there are more players available than if you are at Liverpool for the right price. But at the moment, we are very happy with what we have. But in football, things can change as well. If in the upcoming three months, a certain player who has done so well starts to play poorly, then you might have to adjust.”
