Here is a roundup of the latest Liverpool transfer speculation as there as been some reports on the Daily Mail that Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix has emerged as a potential option for the Reds.
LIVERPOOL have been spending some big money in the last couple of transfer windows and have started to look like a side that could challenge for that Premier League title in the next couple of seasons, but they have looked very shaky at the back this season under Arne Slot
And that has led to many reports in the media which have claimed that Liverpool will delve into that transfer kitty this transfer window and try to add the likes of Marc Guehi to the squad, as the Crystal Palace defender is the clubs number one target.
However – the Palace captain has reportedly decided that he wants to stay at the club this January window and will then make his move away from the Eagles at the end fo the season, when his contract expires at the club and he will be free to choose whomever he likes.
Liverpool told to sign Maxence Lacroix?
Now – amid all the latest transfer speculation – Former *LIVERPOOL*defenders Jamie Carragher expressed his admiration for the Frenchman. “It was a tussle between Guehi and Lacroix, really,” Carragher said when discussing his team of the season so far.
“I’m really impressed with Crystal Palace. But I went for Guehi, he’s got a few more goals as well.”
Stephen Warnock told Aceodds: “I think Marc Guehi would be a really good replacement. What you get from him is leadership and a player who has played on an international level. He has constantly been an outstanding player for England whenever he has been called up. He is very comfortable on the ball.
“He is not the tallest, but he uses his physicality to outweigh the lack of height. The way he reads the game is outstanding. I actually like Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace as well. I think he is a sensational player.
“What he has is an immense pace, and what that allows you to do is to go man for man with Van Dijk and Lacroix at the back. He has the physicality as well. I think if they were to sign either Guehi or Lacroix, they would be very happy with either choice. They are both brilliant defenders.”
Could Liverpool sign Lacroix?
If this was the summer window, *LIVERPOOL*would be able to sign any player that they wanted, but this is not the summer window and the Reds will not be able to get their top targets unless some crazy offer is made.
They will wait until the end of the season to make their move for Guehi, as he is the player they want. Lacroix could end up elsewhere too though with his performances this season.
