Liverpool game at Fulham delayed after 'medical emergency' as ambulance called to stadium

Liverpool's Premier League clash with Fulham has been delayed after a medical emergency at Craven Cottage.

Arne Slot's side had been due to kick-off at 3pm on Sunday (January 4), but it was pushed back by 15 minutes as Fulham issued a statement on social media: "Due to a medical emergency at the ground, kick-off has been delayed by 15 minutes."

According to Sky Sports, the medical emergency involved a member of staff, with an ambulance called to the stadium and players were taken back to the dressing room. Well-wishes poured in on social media, as the news was announced by Fulham.

"Sending thoughts to everyone involved and hoping for a quick recovery," one fan responded. While a second said: "Football can wait - hope the person is safe."

"Hope everybody is safe and well. YNWA," a third shared. As a fourth replied: "KO delayed, thoughts with whoever is affected."

And another added: "Hope the person is ok and recovers well. Health always comes first."

Liverpool were the first team to emerge in their kit ready for the delayed kick-off as they knocked balls about between themselves to keep warm in the freezing conditions.
