Liverpool's line-up for Sunday's Premier League trip to Fulham was without one key player due to injury.

The Reds travelled down to Craven Cottage looking to record their fourth win in five top-flight matches.

However, there was notable absentee from their squad - with the player in question having suffered a hamstring injury.

The player? Hugo Ekitike.

Speaking about his absence, Liverpool manager Arne Slot said in his pre-match interview with Sky Sports: '[Alexander] Isak has been out for a few weeks now and that's meant Ekitike had to play more minutes than the previous part of the season.

'That's led to him picking up a slight hamstring injury, and for a player of his age, not completely used to the Premier League, that's been a bit too much.'

However, the Dutchman has provided a positive update regarding the striker's fitness, believing he will be back for Thursday's trip to league leaders Arsenal.

'That's why he will be out for today - and hopefully back for the Arsenal game [on Thursday night, live on Sky Sports],' he continued.
