De'Andre Hunter came off the bench for 16 points, Jarrett Allen grabbed 12 rebounds, and Evan Mobley finished with 11 boards and three blocked shots.
The Pistons cut a 22-point deficit to just two with 46.4 seconds remaining, but fell to the visiting Miami Heat 118-112 on Thursday night. Cade Cunningham finished with 31 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds, and three steals, but also committed seven turnovers in the loss, while Marcus Sasser scored 18 points off the bench. Detroit played without Tobias Harris (sprained hip) and Caris LeVert (knee inflammation) while Jalen Duren left Thursday's game with an ankle injury and did not return.
The Cavaliers blew out Detroit 116-95 in their first meeting of the season in Motown on Oct. 27. Mitchell averages 29.8 points, with Mobley putting up 17.8 points and 9.1 rebounds per game and Garland posting 17.1 points and 7.0 assists a night. Cunningham gets averages of 26.6 points and 9.7 assists for the Pistons, while Duren averages 17.9 points and 10.6 boards per game, and Isaiah Stewart gets 10.0 points and 2.0 blocks per contest.
