Head coach Rick Carlisle told reporters ahead of the Pacers' Sunday game against the Orlando Magic that Mathurin will be "out for a while" due to his right thumb sprain.
"When we're down numbers, it becomes more challenging, but we've gotten some guys back," Carlisle said, via Pacers reporter Scott Agness, "but now Mathurin's out for a while."
It is unspecified when Mathurin sustained the injury, but he struggled in the Pacers' recent 123-113 loss against the San Antonio Spurs, finishing with just two points in 20 minutes of play.
The Pacers injury report further revealed that Mathurin is unavailable due to a right great toe sprain. The young Pacers wing missed 11 games this season due to the injury.
This season, Mathurin is averaging a career-high 17.8 points, 5.5 boards and 2.2 assists in 24 games played for the 6-29 Pacers.
