Two Mavericks players marked safe on trade deals, report reveals

As stated by Marc Stein, it is believed that the Mavericks are open to entertaining possible deals that won't include Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving.

In the wake of a rough season so far and recent trade speculations regarding Anthony Davis, there are only two players that the Dallas Mavericks are reportedly committed.

Per NBA insider Marc Stein, it has been perceived that Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving are not on the table for the Mavericks in discussing potential deals with any other teams.

"The Mavericks are believed to be willing to discuss trades for anyone on the roster not named Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving, but that hardly guarantees that a Davis deal will materialize before the Feb. 5 trade buzzer. Maybe such a deal does. A no-less-distinct possibility: Dallas might be forced to wait until closer to the draft, like Phoenix did before the Kevin Durant trade market crystallized in June, for palatable offers to materialize," Stein wrote.

The Mavericks found a new centerpiece and the future of their franchise in Flagg. The reigning No. 1 overall pick of last year's draft is on a tear, averaging 18.9 points, 6.4 boards and 4.1 assists in 35 games.

Meanwhile, Irving is yet to make an appearance this season as he continues his torn ACL rehabilitation. It is widely believed that the star guard will return to the court at some point in February.

The Mavs are currently 13-23 in the league standings this season and have lost six of their last eight games. A recent report suggests that there hasn't been any clear progress yet between their rumored trade talks with the Hawks about Davis.
