Lakers Injury News: JJ Redick drops huge update on Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura

The Lakers coach announced that Redick and Reaves won't be joining their road trip against the Pelicans and the Spurs.

The Los Angeles Lakers will approach their upcoming brief road trip shorthanded.

Addressing the media before their Sunday clash against the Memphis Grizzlies, JJ Redick revealed that Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura won't join and will miss the Lakers' trip to New Orleans and San Antonio.

Both stars will remain in Los Angeles, with Hachimura potentially participating in some practice sessions of their G League affiliate South Bay Lakers.

Meanwhile, Hachimura has been dealing with right calf soreness since last week. He'll be missing five consecutive games now upon being declared unavailable to join in the Lakers' looming matchup against the Pelicans and the Spurs.

Reaves is averaging a career-high 26.6 points and 6.3 assists this season before going down. Meanwhile, Hachimura is tallying 12.7 points and 3.8 boards per game.

As the two remains out, the Lakers expect bigger plays from the rest of their group to help Luka Doncic and LeBron James.
