Premier League giants Chelsea look set to appoint their Enzo Maresca replacement in the coming days, and the successful candidate looks like being someone who was on Forest’s radar.
Forest are on their third manager of the 2025/26 campaign. Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked in September and just 39 days later, Ange Postecoglou suffered the same fate after failing to win any of the games he oversaw.
Sean Dyche is now in charge of the Reds and after four successive defeats, he might suffer a similar fate as his predecessors if Forest can’t defeat West Ham on Tuesday and truly put daylight between themselves and the bottom three.
It would appear as though other managers were looked at by Forest before Dyche was appointed, however, and now one man who looks set for Chelsea appeared to be on the radar.

Nottingham Forest eyed Liam Rosenior appointment
Although Evangelos Marinakis chose Dyche as the man to try and steady the ship at the City Ground, it would appear that he was a big fan of Rosenior too.
The Forest role would have appealed to the Englishman too, with his family still living in the East Midlands after his short spell in charge of Derby County.
Rosenior was convinced to remain in charge of Strasbourg, however, with the owners likely promising him a crack at the Chelsea job in the future, according to The Telegraph.
Rosenior has now jetted into London and should be in charge early this week as Chelsea look set to make a swift appointment following the exit of Maresca.

Dyche has to be on borrowed time
It’s a nice gesture to think that Dyche – a former youth team player at Forest in Brian Clough’s era – would work, with his coaching staff including Ian Woan and Steve Stone too.
However, the results simply haven’t been anywhere near good enough and losing four on the trot with the players he has at his disposal is nothing short of embarrassing.

Brentford took full advantage of Everton’s missing star players on Sunday, showcasing just how bad Forest had needed to play against the Toffees over Christmas.
Quite simply, it’s far from good enough and a defeat to West Ham would see the gap become just one point between Forest and the relegation zone, with three points badly needed.
Someone like Rosenior has to be on the shortlist to replace Dyche and it’s about time that Marinakis started putting some proper long-term strategies in place in the coming months.
