Blues icon wants world class German at Chelsea–Blues wants sign£80M star–Chelsea looking sign Italian International

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Sando Tonali, Jurgen Klopp and Morgan Rodgers that we think you guys may have missed…

Things are looking pretty chaotic at Chelsea right now, but that apparently hasn’t harmed their ambition in the transfer market as there has been some stunning claimed that they are keen to try and sign Morgan Rodgers from Aston Villa.

Right now, all the talk at CHELSEA is about who will be the next boss of the club, with many reports suggesting that Liam Rosenior is leading the likes of Oliver Glasner and Androni Iraola as the man to replace Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge.

But that has not stopped the transfer speculation about players that could be coming into the club, as there are still a few areas of the pitch that the Blues board would like to improve over the next few weeks of the transfer window.

What is the latest regarding Morgan Rodgers?

According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea have set their sights on potential transfer deals for two of England’s top young talents in the form of Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri.

Rogers has long been high up on Chelsea’s watch list, but Chelsea have been unable to get a deal done for the Villa star as they do not want to meet that £80 million asking price on his head.

What has been said about Rodgers going to Chelsea

Former Premier League star Emile Heskey recently opened up and claimed that Morgan Rodgers would be a fantastic signing for CHELSEA, amid talk they are looking to raid Aston Villa for the midfielder.

Heskey said: ‘It would be interesting as it’s another Manchester City player who might make their way to Chelsea, but I think he should spend another year at Villa, at least.

‘He’s going well, the club are on the up, and they could break into that top four this season. That’s a really big challenge and a good one for him, too.

‘I think if he did go to Chelsea, he could be fantastic, but for Chelsea it might be overkill, buying players for the sake of it.”

IcFootballnews Says…

Rodgers is brilliant on the ball and so tough to take it from him, he is a great player for Aston Villa and they will not want to lose a player that is so dangerous against pretty much any defence.

Villa do have some financial issues, but they will not want to start letting their best players go, otherwise it will be a step back from all the hard work from the past few seasons.

And to be honest, Rodgers is very happy at Villa right now and will not want to leave the club.

CHELSEA WANTS SANDRO TONALI

There has been some shock reports in the media this week which have claimed that Chelsea are interested in signing the Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali at the end of the season.

CHELSEA are still in the middle of holding talks with prospective bosses about taking over the club after it was revealed just last week that Enzo Maresca would be stepping down as boss of the Blues after just 18 months in charge.

There has been alot of speculation and rumours on why the Italian is no longer boss of the club, but that is not the only speculation going around in the media at this point, as it is claimed that the Chelsea hierarchy are still looking at players they could potentially sign.

And according to Football Insider, they have a genuine interest in the 25-year-old, and they are hoping to add more quality and depth in the middle of the park. They have already invested a lot of money in Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo. The Italian international would take them to a whole new level

Would Tonali join Chelsea?

The Italian international could be tempted by the prospect of joining one of the country’s biggest clubs. He has been linked with a move away from Newcastle in recent months. Clubs in Italy are also monitoring his situation.

However, Tonali has a contract with Newcastle until 2029, and they are under no pressure to sell him. CHELSEA would have to pay a ridiculous amount of money to convince them. It remains to be seen whether the Blues are ready to break the bank for him.

Tonali has really shown himself to be a quality midfielder that would improve that Chelsea side, he really is a brilliant Premier League player. But the fact that he has a massive contract, the Blues have a number of players like, him, he is not needed?

It would be a shock to see CHELSEA actually make a move for the man at the end of the season, especially as they will want to sign players that are younger and more expensive.

JURGEN KLOPP TO CHELSEA?

Joe Cole has encouraged CHELSEA to explore whether Jurgen Klopp would consider a sensational return to the Premier League following Enzo Maresca’s departure at Stamford Bridge.

Liam Rosenior, head coach of the BlueCo-owned Strasbourg, has emerged as the clear frontrunner to succeed Maresca and reports in France suggest talks have accelerated in recent hours.

However – there has been alot of speculation about who the next boss could be, and there is still alot of talk that the Blues are in talks with other managers just in case they cannot complete the hiring of Rosenior.

Asked who he would like to see manage Chelsea ‘in an ideal world’, Cole claimed that he would love to see former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp take over the role at Stamford Bridge.

After bringing an end to his glittering nine-year spell at Liverpool, Klopp took over as Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull GmbH – overseeing strategy and player development at clubs such as RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg and New York Red Bulls.

However, while Klopp has said that a return to management is ‘theoretically possible’, the charismatic German has repeatedly stressed he would never coach another English club but Liverpool

What did Joe Cole Say About Jurgen Klopp?

‘I’m never surprised. Managers don’t get a fair crack of the whip across the board in football,’ ex-CHELSEA and England winger Cole told Paddy Power when asked for his reaction to the news.

‘There’s so much infrastructure around a manager now, how much power does he actually have? He picks the team on the weekend and in a lot of cases I don’t even think that’s completely down to them.

‘I think there’s pressure put on managers to pick certain players, based off the managers I’ve spoken to that are in and out of jobs.

‘I don’t think he [Maresca] was given enough time. He’d done a good job in the circumstances and the club’s statement on his departure reflected that.’

‘I know it’s a mental one but Jurgen Klopp. I know he probably won’t even consider it because it’s Chelsea and he’s Liverpool, but you just never know.

‘If your main aim as a football club is to win trophies and you have the money, you go and speak to the top, top boys.

‘I know it seems like it’s pie in the sky, but if you don’t have that mindset then you’re always banking on developing the next best manager, which they thought they were doing with Enzo Maresca.’

Would Jurgen Klopp be interested in a move to Chelsea?

Look, When Klopp left Liverpool he pretty much said that he would not manage another side in the Premier League, so a move to Chelsea will not be something that he is interested in right now.

If the right offer does arrive, he will get back into management, but it will not be another English club apart from Liverpool.
