Slot handed small positive after Fulham draw but it surely won't impress Liverpool supporters - opinion

Liverpool conceded a 97th minute equaliser against Fulham, but the draw is significant for many reasons.

The Reds will feel disappointed after having three points stolen from them at the death, although their performance suggests they did not deserve it anyway.

They lacked innovation against Fulham and were really underwhelming yet again, with questions starting to be asked of Arne Slot yet again.

However, the Dutchman has one thing that he will be clinging on to, although Reds fans will not be impressed.

Liverpool have the current longest unbeaten streak in the Premier League

Liverpool may not be winning games, but they are not losing them either, with this their fourth draw in their last eight games.

In fact, they are unbeaten in eight Premier League matches, meaning that, alongside Man City, they are on the longest run without a loss.

This is something Slot will cling to as it clearly shows he has turned results around, but performances have largely been the same, with the Reds just getting strokes of luck here and there.

The last two matches in particular are what Liverpool fans will want to hone in on, though, as they have been really poor and they failed to win in both, suggesting things might be starting to dip again.

Granted, Liverpool did come close to winning it, but even if they did, supporters would not have excused the performance, so Slot has a lot of thinking to do.

Liverpool’s next fixtures are not easy for Arne Slot

The Dutchman needs to get back to winning ways, but based on the Reds’ fixtures, this will not be the easiest task.

They have Arsenal next in the Premier League, before facing Burnley, Marseille, Bournemouth and Qarabag, with an FA Cup match against Barnsley in there too just to make the schedule even busier.

Newcastle, Man City and Sunderland follow that, highlighting just how much trouble they could be in, so it could be make or break for Slot as Liverpool manager very soon.
