Jamie Carragher has delivered absolutely brutal 12-word dig at one Liverpool player

**Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher hasn’t held back in his criticism of Milos Kerkez, following the 2-2 draw away to Fulham in the Premier League.**

The Reds dropped more points on Sunday afternoon, with Harrison Reed’s incredible last-gasp strike stunning the visitors, just when it looked like Cody Gakpo had won it for them in stoppage time.

Arne Slot’s champions look a long way from that right now, with pressure growing on Liverpool’s head coach and too many players underperforming.

Speaking on _Sky Sports_ during the game \[via [_TEAMtalk_](https://www.teamtalk.com/liverpool/jamie-carragher-ibrahima-konate-criticism-fulham-draw)\], Carragher produced a brutal 12-word assessment of Kerkez, comparing the left-back to Darwin Nunez, in terms of his erratic nature:

_“Sometimes when you watch Kerkez it’s like having Darwin Nunez at left-back.”_

Carragher then went into further detail about Kerkez, saying: _“It’s just a bit mad. There’s no thought process,  what’s he doing with the ball,  how’s he connecting with other players. “It’s just head down and run. Head down and run with the ball, he never gets his head up and plays passes._

_“He’s got to improve, he’s a young man, but we’ve seen that with a few left-backs, Andy Robertson being one, who didn’t have great starts to their Liverpool careers. But yes, he’s got to improve.”_

**Is Carragher’s criticism of Kerkez too harsh?**

--------------------------------------------------

There is no question that Kerkez has made a slow start to life at Liverpool, struggling to make the step up to shining consistently for one of the biggest clubs in the world, having impressed so much for Bournemouth.

That said, the 22-year-old has improved in recent weeks compared to earlier in the season, so Carragher’s comments feel harsh, and arguably even slightly on the personal side.

To compare him to Nunez is needless, and given his status as one of the country’s leading pundits, the Hungarian is now likely to see the quotes, which won’t help his confidence.

Big improvements are needed from Kerkez, but Carragher should remember how hard he found it early in his Liverpool career – he scored two own goals against Manchester United at the age of 21 – and not be too unfair, especially considering the left-back plays for the teams he supports.
