Arsenal upgraded their wingers in the summer which means that one emerging talent hasn’t seen much game time this season.

Arsenal’s squad is already starting to get stronger for the second half of the season without any signings needing to be made.

Mikel Arteta has seen Gabriel Jesus return to action with a bang in what will be a welcome addition to the forward line with Kai Havertz also nearing the sort of fitness level needed to be relied upon on a more regular basis.

Bournemouth look to replace Antoine Semenyo with Arsenal winger

What Arteta won’t want to do is lose players who he might need to turn to in the coming weeks and months. One squad member who could be allowed to leave is Ethan Nwaneri despite reports that Arteta is keen to keep a player who could make a difference if called upon.

With Bournemouth set to lose Antoine Semenyo, the Cherries are on the hunt for a winger to tide them over until the summer and, according to The Daily Mail, Nwaneri is being targeted.

“With Nwaneri, it’s understood that Bournemouth and other Premier League clubs have registered their interest in a January loan move for the starlet, and the Gunners are aware he is keen for game time,” it read.

“The 18-year-old signed a five-year contract in August and his rise has been rapid. Last season, the attacker made his first Premier League and Champions League starts, shone in the Carabao Cup, while scoring nine goals across those three competitions. Yet, 12 months on, Nwaneri has slid way down Arteta’s pecking order.”

Will Arsenal let Nwaneri leave The Emirates?

Arteta has addressed recently transfer speculation and has insisted that players like Nwaneri could yet play their part in the title run-in, via The Mirror: “That every player is very important, every player has a role, that role can change throughout the season for different reasons, and everybody has to be ready to play.”

Asked about Arsenal’s plans for the transfer window, he added: “We are open to every option. Obviously, if we can find a solution that is short, medium or long. It's always much better because it gives you stability and you don't have to constantly start a process with a new player. But let's see what happens, let's see what the news is in the next few weeks, and we'll try to make the right decision.”

Arsenal could benefit in the short and long term from sending Nwaneri out on loan. This season, he could damage other teams in the title race without being able to face his parent club. Long term, Arteta would be getting a player back with more experience and game time.
