Liverpool and Newcastle want €25m player – Manchester City also express interest

Liverpool, Newcastle United and Manchester City have Toulouse FC’s Charlie Cresswell on their agenda.

That’s at least what Sport in France are reporting. Their title say Liverpool and Newcastle United want the defender.

Manchester City can challenge the Premier League duo in the chase for the former Leeds United man.

The centre-back joined the Ligue 1 side from the Whites in July 2024. He has continued to improve in France, and this hasn’t gone unnoticed in the UK.

Sport, who make it clear it’s their own information, claim Cresswell’s ‘strength in duels, and his aerial prowess’ makes him sought after in England.

Liverpool and Newcastle United are keen, but the report states they aren’t the only ones pursuing the Englishman. Manchester City have expressed interest in the 23-year-old. It’s not clear whether Pep Guardiola’s side contacted the player’s camp, Toulouse or both.

The French club are valuing their star at €25m. It’s not specified or indicated whether Liverpool, Newcastle United or Manchester City are willing to meet their demand.

West Ham United and Sunderland showed interest last summer. Back in September, Cresswell said he didn’t need to be convinced to snub these two clubs.
