Arsenal Injury News And Return Dates: Updates On Riccardo Calafiori, Cristhian Mosquera And Max Dowman

**Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori was not in the matchday squad for the 3-2 win over Bournemouth.**

The Italian international picked up a minor injury in training the day before the game against Brighton.

However, Calafiori was set to play before he pulled out in the warm-up, with Myles Lewis-Skelly taking his place in the starting lineup.

No update has been provided on when Calafiori will be available for selection. Manager Mikel Arteta [**simply said**](https://goonernews.com/blog/arsenal-injury-news-riccardo-calafiori-cristhian-mosquera/) that the 23-year-old was “out” for the trip to Bournemouth. He has now missed the last three games, including Brighton, Aston Villa and Saturday’s match.

**Expected Return Date – Unknown**

Cristhian Mosquera

------------------

The centre-back picked up an ankle injury during the victory against Brentford at the start of December.

Mosquera’s recovery time was set at around six weeks, so he is not expected to face Liverpool on Thursday, or Portsmouth in the FA Cup this weekend.

The 21-year-old may have an outside chance of making the bench for the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final versus Chelsea if his recovery has gone well.

However, Mosquera may have to wait slightly longer than that to make his comeback.

**Expected Return Date – Saturday 17th January vs Nottingham Forest (a)**

Max Dowman

----------

The teenager has been sidelined since the beginning of last month after sustaining ankle ligament damage during an Under-21 fixture.

Dowman started and scored against Manchester United in a behind-closed-doors friendly, but it later transpired that the attacking midfielder had picked up an injury.

Initial estimates suggested that the 16-year-old would need at least two months to recover full fitness, which means his return has been pencilled in for early February.

The Gunners haven’t actually provided any official update about Dowman’s injury, so the next time we hear anything may well be pictures of him back training with the first team. There is some time to go before than happens, though.

**Expected Return Date – February**
