Many Reds fans were overjoyed for Federico Chiesa on the opening day of the 2025/26 campaign against Bournemouth. Coming off the bench, the Italian winger provided a decisive moment when he grabbed the crucial goal in the 88th minute, setting up the late drama that would define Liverpool’s thrilling 4-2 win.
Fans hoped that it would be a turning point for the 28-year-old at Anfield, and that we would see the former Juventus man more regularly. But since that bright beginning, Chiesa has found game time remarkably elusive under Arne Slot’s management. Despite Mohamed Salah’s departure to AFCON beginning in mid-December, the opportunity that should have presented itself for the 28-year-old to establish himself never truly materialized.
In 19 Premier League games so far this season he was fit for, Chiesa has started just one game, a situation he cannot be happy with.
And it looks like interested parties have taken note of the situation. Fabrizio Romano has reported that Juventus have made a formal approach for Chiesa, but that the situation is still early doors.
Taking to X he revealed:
“Juventus made formal contact to show interest in Federico Chiesa over possible return in January. Juve are looking to add +1 winger this month and Chiesa is appreciated. Decision up to Liverpool and the player, still early stages.”
Reports from Italy have also asserted that Antonio Conte and Napoli are very keen on the player as well, but are aware that Turin will likely be his destination should he leave Anfield this month.
