The French forward signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers and exceeded expectations, playing relevant minutes and earning a bigger contract in the following offseason.

Last summer, Yabusele signed a two-year deal with the Knicks, worth almost $12 million.

Although the French forward is not finding much space in New York at the moment, he revealed in an interview with a French YouTuber that he doesn't plan to leave the NBA anytime soon.

In the interview, Yabusele revealed key reasons why the NBA is better than Europe and what guarantees it offers players and their families.

"If you play three years in the NBA, you get a lifetime pension. After four seasons, medical expenses are covered for life," Yabusele explained.

"And after five years, the medical coverage is extended to the entire family. I want to play for five years here in the NBA so that my family can benefit from that lifetime care. You never know what can happen in life."

This is the fourth NBA season for Yabusele. The French power forward was originally drafted by the Boston Celtics in the 2016 NBA Draft and made his way to the NBA in 2017.

Yabusele played two seasons with the Boston Celtics before moving to China and then to Europe. In 2024, he signed for the Philadelphia 76ers, where he played his third NBA season, the one that gave him access to the pension.

With this season, his fourth one in the league, Yabusele will have access to the medical expenses coverage for himself.

Considering that the former Real Madrid player has a player option for next season, it's very likely that he'll stay in the NBA also next season, securing medical coverage also for his family.
