A Man City player worth £59m is reportedly set to snub Tottenham amid their transfer interest in him.

Man City are hoping to close the gap the Arsenal in the Premier League, as the Gunners have a six point lead following City’s draw against manager-less Chelsea on Sunday afternoon at Stamford Bridge.

However, Pep Guardiola will also have his mind on the transfer window, as City are hoping to improve their squad, with the first signing potentially being Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, who is in talks over a move to the Etihad.

Man City will also want to ensure they keep their best players too, as the upcoming run-in against Arsenal is not going to be easy. Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing one of City’s players, but he could snub a move.

Marmoush wanted by PL rivals Tottenham

Man City forward Omar Marmoush is currently away from the team, as he is at AFCON with Morocco. However, he isn’t short of attention in the Premier League, as reports have begun to claim that Tottenham are interested in signing him in this January window. Man City signed him just a year ago for a fee of £59m from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Marmoush hasn’t got the regular starts he would have wanted at City, mainly because he is the second-choice striker behind Erling Haaland. Because of this, Spurs are reportedly hoping to tempt him with a move away, as they are very much in need of a new forward.

According to former Premier League scout Mick Brown, though, Marmoush would much rather stay at City and fight for his place, rather than move to North London. Brown told Football Insider: “It’s a deal that would suit Tottenham, but I don’t know whether it would suit the player.

“It would get him more regular game time, which, of course, would be a benefit, but he will feel he still has a part to play at Man City. He did really well when he first started there, and yes, Foden has come back into form, and they’ve added Cherki, so the team has gone on again, but he still has a role.

“Whether he would want to leave City, with the chance of winning silverware and taking part in a title race, to join an inconsistent Tottenham side is doubtful.”

Who could leave Man City in January?

If Marmoush isn’t to leave Man City in January, then who is? Reports have indicated that Oscar Bobb could be a casualty if the Semenyo move does go ahead, as his path to regular first-team football would be much more difficult.

He has an estimated market value of around £22m, but due to his potential, City could likely demand a much higher fee, but if he wants to leave, they may have to strike a compromise to make sure a move goes ahead.
