43-year-old Chelsea legend making his football return in Baller League tonight

If you follow Baller League, you may have already heard which Chelsea legend John Terry has called in to feature for his 26ers in the last game of the group stage.

Chelsea’s greatest captain has turned to management in Baller League, and has his 26ers clinging onto the final spot in the top four with one game to play.

Terry came up in discussions for Chelsea’s next manager, and while he doesn’t believe he’s at the level yet to take the reins at Stamford Bridge, he has shown his coaching proficiency in the six-a-side competition.

For this pivotal final game, Terry has called upon an old pal to lace up his boots — and dust off his gloves — for a return to action tonight.

As the official Baller League page announced on X: “PETR CECH IS GETTING THE GLOVES ON TONIGHT! John Terry’s making the big calls in the Final Four chase.”

Bad news for their opponents, who will have to get past one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, and with a smaller target to aim at.

They play in the penultimate clash this evening at 9pm.

John Terry could make the jump to a proper manager role

While fans of Baller League might disagree, it’s a novelty competition albeit full of quality talents.

But Terry dreams of one day managing Chelsea, and he has acknowledged that isn’t something he’s quite prepared for yet, but he is ready for a head coach role in England.

Terry was linked to the Oxford United job, but he has since personally ruled it out. Perhaps the former Chelsea star is holding out for a bigger opportunity.

He might not be in the running for the Chelsea vacancy this time around, but there’s no reason why he can’t work himself into contention over the next couple of seasons.
