PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Portland Trail Blazers forward Deni Avdija was named the NBA’s Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
The 25-year-old All-Star hopeful is in the midst of a career season - his second with the team after being traded from the Washington Wizards.
Over four games this week, in which the Blazers went 3-1, Avdija averaged 26.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game.

He punctuated his stellar week with a triple-double in Saturday’s 115-110 victory over the San Antonio Spurs - who currently have the second-best record in the Western Conference and third-best in the league overall.
The Israeli native is averaging nearly 26 points and over seven rebounds and assists per game - all career-highs - while serving as the teams de facto point guard since mid-November in the wake of numerous injuries.
The Trail Blazers (16-20) host the Utah Jazz (12-22) on Monday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Moda Center.
