Arsenal have completed the signing of 19-year-old Swedish starlet Smilla Holmberg from Damallsvenskan side Hammarby.
The young right-back joins the Gunners from Hammarby IF, having joined the Swedish club at the age of seven before making her senior debut at age 15. Holmberg featured in all 26 of Hammarby’s 2025 fixtures, scoring six goals and achieving four assists across the campaign.
Holmberg made her debut for the Sweden international team in May 2025 in a UEFA Women’s Nations League fixture against Italy. Now with nine international appearances under her belt, Holmberg featured three times for Sweden at Women’s Euro 2025.
