Seven Liverpool players who could miss Arsenal clash - as Gunners might be without three stars

Fulham 2-2 Liverpool: Match Review

Arsenal vs Liverpool team news ahead of the Premier League fixture at the Emirates Stadium.

Liverpool’s busy schedule continues when they travel to Arsenal in the Premier League on Thursday.

At the beginning of the campaign, plenty would have been expecting the fixture to be a key battle in the Premier League title race. The Reds claimed the English championship last season, with the Gunners finishing second and both were tipped to challenge again.

However, Liverpool’s defence of their crown has been insipid. In 20 league games so far, they have dropped points in half of them, most recently a 2-2 draw at Fulham. In contrast, Arsenal have slipped up just five times and they are six points clear of the summit.

The Reds are on a run of nine matches unbeaten in all competitions but supporters have been left bemoaning the style of football on show of late. Arne Slot’s side have created few goalscoring chances, something the head coach knows needs to improve. And given Arsenal’s prowess from set-pieces, which has been a weakness for Liverpool throughout the campaign, the visitors will have to be at their very best.

Arsenal team news

Cristhian Mosquera - out

The centre-back is recovering from a foot issue and it appears unlikely he will be able to feature against Liverpool.

Riccardo Calafiori - doubt

The defender has missed Arsenal's past two games after suffering an 'awkward' injury before a victory over Brighton. Calafiori's fitness will have to be assessed before a decision is made.

Max Dowman - out

The talented 16-year-old is a genuine first-team option for Arsenal but he is unavailable because of a foot issue.

Liverpool team news

Mo Salah - out

The winger is representing Egypt at the African Cup of Nations. If the Pharaohs reach the final then Salah could be away for another two weeks.

Alexander Isak - out

The £125 million British record signing broke his leg when scoring in a 2-1 win at Tottenham last month. Isak is set to be unavailable for potentially three months, according to Slot.

Wataru Endo - out

The midfielder is recovering from an ankle injury. Last week, Slot suggested that Endo was not close to making a return to action.

Giovanni Leoni - out

The centre-back suffered an ACL injury on his Liverpool debut in September. Leoni will not play again this campaign.

Stefan Bajcetic - out

The midfielder is still to make an appearance at any level since he had hamstring surgery in the summer. Bajcetic's problem was sustained while on loan at Las Palmas last season.

Jayden Danns - out

The well-regarded teenage striker has been plagued by injury setbacks over the past 18 months. He is hopefully coming towards the end of a hamstring issue.

Hugo Ekitike - doubt
