Arsenal will be hoping for a positive January transfer window on several accounts in the hope of winning the Premier League title. The Gunners have a very strong squad and that has been reflected by their six-point lead at the top of the table.
That advantage increased this past weekend as a Declan Rice brace helped Arsenal to beat Bournemouth 3-2 while Enzo Fernandes snatched a point for Chelsea in the final knockings against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium.
Mikel Arteta's side will be hoping to further extend that gap this midweek as they face Liverpool at Emirates Stadium, 24 hours on from City hosting Brighton.
A 10-day break from league football follows those games but the fixtures will still continue to come thick and fast.
Taking into account potential injuries, strengthening depth this month will be an aim for all clubs with City looking to do exactly that.
Guehi boostfor Arsenal
Title rivals Man City look set for a busy winter trading period after the huge injury blow to Josko Gvardiol. According to BBC, City have emerged as contenders for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi and are now exploring a January move.
The Eagles have already fought off interest from Liverpool this past summer and are seemingly resigned to losing him on a free transfer. While Palace could look to secure a fee this month, Oliver Glasner clearly does not want that to happen.
When asked specifically about Guehi and January, he bluntly said: "Of course we want to keep everyone." That comment followed his clear update from the previous week where it was stated: “I think Marc will stay until the end of the season."
No Gvardiol, potentially for the remainder of the season, and Guehi staying in south London will arrive as a major boost for Arsenal and their title hopes.

Ruben Dias also left their recent clash with a potential issue which looks set to leave City very light at the back.
Bartesaghi interest
Arsenal continued to be linked with a move for AC Milan star Davide Bartesaghi.
According to Quotidiano Sport, the Gunners are 'closely following' the 20-year-old with it claimed in their report that has been the case for some time.
Amid interest from Manchester City and Real Madrid as well, Milan are looking to negotiate a new long-term deal for the defender which would include his salary being tripled. He has predominantly been deployed as a left wing-back, but showcased his versatility by recently playing on the left of a back three.
As an academy graduate of Milan, it seems likely he would prefer to stay with talk of a move elsewhere improving his negotiation position for a new bumper deal.
It has been claimed, however, the Italian giants would demand €45million (£39m) to sell him this month.
