It is now a matter of time before Liam Rosenior is officially appointed as the new permanent Chelsea manager.
Positive meetings took place on Monday with the Strasbourg boss about him bringing an end to Calum McFarlane’s temporary spell in charge of the club.
McFarlane is expected to lead the Blues against Fulham, with the need to announce a new manager for the Ligue 1 side.

Liam Rosenior’s dad ‘buzzing’ to see him linked to Chelsea job
Another person who is buzzing about the prospect is his dad, Leroy Rosenior. He has remained in England while his son has coached in France.
The opportunity to see his eldest son more often is something that really appeals to Rosenior senior, telling Premier League Productions that it would be amazing to see his son take the reins at Stamford Bridge.
He said: “He happens to be my oldest son and if people didn’t know already and yeah he has been strongly linked.
“And you know if he was to get the job I think it would be absolutely amazing. As a family we’ve been on a journey, you know, my dad came over in in the 50s from Sierra Leone, West Africa, in the 50s you know with nothing but his bags.
“I played obviously professional football in the 80s and the 90s and Liam was around that for a big part. But for a young Englishman to be linked with a job like this is absolutely amazing.
“So look if it was to happen familywise it’d be amazing but you know what, you know why I’m buzzing because he might come home because I might be able to see him.
“I haven’t seen him for such a long time. So for me to see my son regularly it’s been something that I’ve missed. So the reason why I’m really buzzing about it is that he might be home. I might see him more.”

Rosenior planning for January transfer window
It is expected that it will be a quiet January transfer window for Chelsea, however that could change with the arrival of a new manager.

Reports have stated that Rosenior has been discussing January targets as part of his talks with Chelsea.
It can be expected that the majority of signings will be made in the summer, however the club will know there is still plenty to play for in the 2025/26 season.
Before then, expect to see opportunities handed to Andrey Santos from the new manager after their very successful time together at Strasbourg.
