Last week, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Juventus were considering re-signing Federico Chiesa from Liverpool. The famous old Italian newspaper expressed confidence the winger was more than just an idea for the Bianconeri.
Now, Chiesa’s situation has quickly become front page news for both Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport.
Today’s edition of Italy’s pink daily claims that Juventus have made contact with Liverpool to land the winger. This has been done with a very specific goal in mind, with the Old Lady having presented a plan to the Reds already.
They want to sign him on a six-month loan with a possible option to buy, with the Anfield club looking for guarantees for a permanent sale. This would allow them to recoup the €12m they spent in 2024.
While Liverpool have opened the door to Chiesa’s exit, they would only want his departure to go through after Mohamed Salah returns from AFCON. Arne Slot’s side do not want to be caught short of attacking options.

Corriere dello Sport add more detail. They claim that the Azzurri player’s agent Fali Ramadani will be in Italy in the coming days to discuss the possibility of Chiesa returning to his homeland. That comes after talks between the two clubs on Monday.
AS Roma tried to sign him in the summer, with AC Milan and Atalanta also having made initial contact. However, interest from Juve has particularly caught the winger’s interest. As a result, optimism is rising in Turin about bringing Chiesa back.
Corriere also claim that Liverpool want to wait until Salah’s return before sanctioning the Italian’s exit.
It doesn’t end here as TuttoSport also cover the 28-year-old’s future prominently.
Liverpool want some guarantees
Tuttosport reiterate Liverpool want guarantees of a permanent sale. Juve’s offer is likely a loan with an option to buy and that currently needs some work.
The Turin newspaper seem sure that Chiesa would quickly accept a move back to his former club. Luciano Spalletti’s presence will also play a role, with the manager said to have a good relationship with the former Fiorentina star.
All things considered, things are moving in the right direction. Everything will come down to whether Juve meet Liverpool’s demands later in January.
