Green criticized Poole for staying back during the altercation, saying a player can’t simply stand aside in awe and needs to support his teammates in situations like that.
“If I’m in a fight and my teammate is standing behind and doing this (exaggerated facial expression), come on man. We can’t be doing that,” Green said on his podcast.
“David West used to always tell us if something goes wrong on the court, you go over there because you don’t know what’s going to happen. I ain’t saying you got to fight. What if those five guys jump on your one teammate?” he added.
The two players already have a complicated history. Green punching Poole in the past led to Poole’s relationship with the Warriors souring, a situation that continues to this day.
