The January transfer window has only just creaked open, yet the rumour mill is already spinning furiously as Premier League clubs rush to patch up weaknesses in their squads. Liverpool are among the early actors, trying to juggle interest in some of their own players while also scouring the market for fresh additions.

One of the first notable developments has been around Federico Chiesa, with Juventus reportedly making a formal move to explore a January return to Turin. The Italian winger has endured a frustrating start under Arne Slot, featuring for just 104 minutes in the Premier League during his first half-season at Anfield. With that lack of game time in mind, the Bianconeri have opened tentative talks to assess how open Liverpool might be to doing business before the window closes.

But on the academy front, there is movement too. The Talent Hunter has reported that Liverpool youth goalkeeper Harry Lee-Frith has completed a switch to Stockport County:

“15 year-old goalkeeper Harry Lee-Frith has completed a move to Stockport County from Liverpool. Lee-Frith spent over 7 years at Liverpool. This season, despite only being 15, he trained with the U18s and U21s. In one of his last games for Liverpool U16s, he kept a clean sheet and saved a penalty in a 5-0 win over Manchester United U16s. In total, 23 clubs made offers to sign Lee-Frith – including five Cat 1 clubs and a mixture of Cat 2 Premier League/Championship clubs. He eventually chose to join Stockport County due to the pathway to the first-team that they presented him. A great effort from their head of recruitment, Ryan Grocott, for getting it over the line.”

Firth also posted a goodbye message on Instagram in December, writing:

After over 7 years at Liverpool Football Club, the time has come to say goodbye. I have been proud to represent the club across the world and I would like to sincerely thank all the staff and coaches who supported my development, both professionally and personally. I am grateful for the opportunities, experiences, and relationships formed along the way. I now look forward to the next chapter in my football career
